Hi! I’m Lisa Pratto.
I’m your new Pinterest buddy / writer friend. I help small businesses use Pinterest, build websites, and create written content to market themselves. And, I love my job.
I should probably introduce myself; I typically use this bio when I write online:
Lisa Pratto is a freelance writer and webmistress who has an abnormal love of 80s music, refuses to tolerate the use of random apostrophes, and makes one heck of a good cheesecake. While she prides herself on being a Detroiter, Lisa now resides in (very, very, very cold) northern Minnesota where she writes about a ridiculous number of topics that fascinate her, from personal finance and retirement to maker spaces and weddings. She is also a diehard fan of Star Wars, Monty Python, and all things chocolate.
Of course, if we are going to work together, you’ll want to know a few more details about my professional skills beyond my cheesecake-making abilities.
- B.F.A. Art History (minor non-profit management)
- M.S. Digital Marketing (expected completion December 2025)
- 15 years of experience writing online
- Published in HuffPost, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Finance, AOL Travel, and American Window Cleaner Magazine
- Original recipe featured in BuzzFeed

Additionally …
- Invited to join Pinterest in August 2011, a full year before Pinterest was open to the public
- Created one of the first viral pins with over 300K re-pins in late 2013
- HubPages (R.I.P.) wrote an article about me and that particular pin titled: “How to Make a Pin Go Viral”

My infamous pin was actually an article on 10 cream cheese dip recipes that eventually grew into a monster list of 101 recipes! Corny? Sure! Successful? Yes!! Did I keep refreshing my screen to capture this exact image of it rolling over to 300K? YOU BETCHA!!!
And, after all this time, I still love my job.
Every. Single. Day.
I love writing about different things, creating pins that drive traffic, building websites for small businesses, and generally rocking my own little corner of the internet. If you are ready to work together (yay!), let’s connect.
